Sometimes our faith is challenged in areas we are not ready for. We have to learn to trust God differently.
There are times when we have things happen to us and how we handle those situations can determine many things, right? We can trust God and do what He tells us or we can tune Him out (as I have on several occasions) and do it on our own knowing the results may not be favorable.
I had some things happen to me at work and I had been praying, seeking God, receiving Godly counsel, but still feeling like things were not moving or shifting in MY favor. A serious attack from the enemy took place and shook me to my core. It was then God told me to stop -- completely stop all that I was doing and wait for Him. I didn't really understand. Stop? Stop fighting and warring in the Spirit like You told me? It was at that moment when my Heavenly Father broke His Word down and explained I was doing the right thing -- I was geared up, had my weapons and was in proper position. He needed me to back up and step back - Stand Down as they say in the military - so He could allow me to re-group, refuel and He needed to give me NEW strategies for the enemy. Once He provided me with the strategies, I was then to WAIT -- WAIT - WAIT for Him to instruct me when and how to move. And NO movement or action could take place until He said so.
This was one of the hardest challenges! It was already hard battling in the Spirit, but then to have to be still and wait for His "every" instruction? This is FAITH on another level, folks. This is truly trusting Him to lead and guide you... this is Psalms 32:8 -- I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye (NKJV) ... this is Psalms 51:12 -- Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit to sustain me. This type of challenge also demonstrates His grace -- not only towards us so we can make it through, but also to EMPOWER us to do what He asks of us. It is in our weakness that HIS strength is made perfect! (2 Corinthians 12:9)
How many of you have been told it's time to "grow up?" It's time to move on to something NEW? something BETTER? It is scary, yes it is. It's much easier to stay in the familiar place -- what you know. But God says we cannot remain in the same place forever. He does not want to us stay "babies" in Him. He wants us to stop drinking milk and begin eating food (see 1 Corinthians 3:1-2). We have to activate FAITH -- trusting in Him for ALL things at ALL times. Remember -- faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things NOT seen (Hebrews 11:1). When we are able to release ourselves and trust God MORE, that is taking our faith to another level!
Prayer: Father God, thank you for stretching us to HIGHER heights and taking our faith in You to another level! We know it's not easy and sometimes we want to give up, but we thank You for Your grace and mercy to help us make it through each day. We are excited about growing up and growing closer to You in our Christian walk. Thank you for loving us even when we want to stay babies and may not embrace all that You have for us. We love You and thank you for loving us! In Jesus' name, Amen!
And this can be accomplished... while Becoming Your Best You! #BYBY
